TODAY IN NOTL

🌧️ Weather

Spring’s trying… but not fully committing just yet.

We’re getting a little bit of everything this week. A warmer Friday to start, then rain settles in through the weekend, followed by a colder snap early next week with a chance of flurries. Classic Niagara shoulder season.

Keep the jacket close. You’ll need it again by Monday.

Gas prices, anyone?

If it feels like prices have been all over the place lately… you’re not wrong.

We’ve seen some pretty big swings across Southern Ontario over the past couple weeks. The highest I’ve seen recently was $1.80/L — and it feels like it changes every time you drive past a station.

Curious what everyone else has been seeing. What’s the highest price you’ve noticed recently?

Lets get into the news👇

🐣 Easter in NOTL

Happy Easter, NOTL.

Whether it’s a full house with family, a quieter morning at home, or a walk through town before everything gets going, today tends to slow things down in the best way. It’s a chance to reconnect, share a meal, and enjoy a bit of spring finally settling in around us.

Across Niagara-on-the-Lake, you’ll see families gathering, tables filling up, and little ones heading out for egg hunts (or already working through their chocolate stash).

However you’re spending the day, we hope it’s a good one — with time well spent, good company, and maybe just a bit too much dessert.

Tomorrow

🐰 Bunny Trail & Kinsmen Egg Hunt

Happening tomorrow, April 4, the Niagara Nursery School and Child Care Centre is teaming up with the NOTL Kinsmen Club to bring back the annual Bunny Trail and Egg Hunt at the Community Centre.

It’s a full morning of family-friendly activities, with the egg hunt kicking off at 10:00 AM sharp (rain or shine). Alongside it, expect kids’ games, a colouring station, bake sale, Touch-a-Truck with local emergency services, a petting zoo, and a visit from Egg’s the Bunny.

Activities run from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, giving families plenty of time to explore before and after the hunt. Admission is $5 per child, with all proceeds supporting programs and resources at Niagara Nursery School.

A long-standing local tradition, the event aims to raise $15,000 this year while bringing the community together for a fun, spring-filled morning.

We hope to see you all there!

Easter weekend tends to look a little different for everyone.

For some, it’s a big family gathering around the table. For others, it’s keeping things simple, getting outside, or just enjoying a slower day.

We’re curious how Easter is shaping up across NOTL this year.

P.S. If you read this far, I love chocolate… a lot, so I’m very excited about Easter! Only if there was a way for people to send me chocolate via email… Since tech isn’t that advanced yet, we can settle for a simple hello.

I’d love to hear from you — what you’ve been enjoying from NOTL News, what you want to see more of, or just to say hi. 👇
