Today in NOTL ☃️
If you’re wondering where all this snow came from, you’re not alone.
It started falling the night of the 14th and spent all day yesterday making itself very comfortable. By this morning, Niagara-on-the-Lake is fully in winter mode — packed snow, slower roads, and that unmistakable snow-globe look across town. ❄️
If you’re heading out today, give yourself a little extra time. Conditions are still wintery, and everything’s moving just a bit slower than usual.

And while we’re noticing things around town…
Remember the speed camera?
Ontario’s decision to scrap speed cameras back in November was widely known — but it somehow took until now to realize our local one has been gone for ages. Turns out we didn’t even notice it missing.
Do we miss it?
Not particularly.
Especially considering it had a habit of getting cut down. Repeatedly. 😅
Stay warm, drive easy, and let’s take today one careful step at a time.

Only the BEST for our pets, naturally!
When your pet is family, the standard changes.
That’s why more local pet owners are taking a closer look at the treats they’re giving and questioning ingredients that don’t belong in treats meant for animals they care deeply about.
That is where 2CanGrow comes in.
2CanGrow produces premium, single-ingredient pet treats.
No fillers. No preservatives. No additives.
The brand is built around one simple principle:
Only the best for our pets, naturally!
Each treat is made in small batches and prepared with care, then gently cooked in homemade bone broth and freeze-dried to preserve nutrition, flavour, and freshness.
The lineup stays refreshingly simple:
High in protein. Easy to digest. And made for pets who deserve food that supports their health, energy, and wellbeing.
If you’re a pet owner who wants to feel confident about the treats you’re giving, this is a brand worth supporting.

Next Week
🍷 Wine wine wine
Icewine season officially begins today (the 16th), and if there’s one winter tradition Niagara does better than anywhere else, this is it.
Over the next couple of weeks, wineries across the region are opening their doors for special tastings, limited pours, and festival moments that only happen once a year — the kind that turn a cold January day into something worth lingering over. Winter tastings move slower, conversations feel more personal, and you actually get time with the people behind the wine.

If Icewine has always felt like a “we’ll do it someday” experience, consider this your nudge to make it a this-week plan. Bundle up, plan a mid-day stop or two, and let the festival guide you — whether you’re revisiting a favourite winery or discovering somewhere new.

From tasting highlights to pop-ups and special pours, there’s plenty happening over the next couple of weeks — and a few easy ways to follow along and plan your route.
Winter in Niagara doesn’t slow down — it just pours a little sweeter.
