š Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spot That Overdelivers
Some spots try to impress with white tablecloths. Bricks & Barley just delivers great food, friendly service, and a vibe that feels like home in NOTL.
Tucked beside the arena, itās a local favourite thanks to wood-fired pizzas, stacked burgers, crisp salads, and comfort food done right ā plus a solid beer list and something for every dietary need.

What makes Bricks & Barley stand out? Itās the feeling. Friendly staff, quick service, and a cozy-casual vibe that fits whether youāre coming from hockey practice or out for dinner. Youāll leave full ā and smiling. š
Oh ā and if you want a peek at whatās coming out of the kitchen?

š· Behind Every Good Family Photo Is a Brave Photographer

If youāve ever tried to organize a family photo, you know how it goes ā someoneās missing, someoneās crying (probably a toddler, maybe an uncle), and someoneās yelling, āJust take the picture!ā
As someone with a large family myself, I understand. We love each other deeply⦠just preferably from separate rooms. Getting everyone together and smiling at the same time? Itās like trying to schedule a group hug during a fire drill. š§Ø

Thatās where Julie Saggers comes in. Born and raised in NOTL, she knows how to turn family photo chaos into something relaxed and real. She finds the best light, keeps kids engaged, and captures moments that actually feel like you.
Youāll spot her in orchards, by the lake, or wandering Old Town ā wherever the setting tells the story.
No pressure. No stiff smiles. No matching khakis. Just your people, as they are ā a little loud, a little wild, and totally worth remembering.

šØ Virgilās Speed Camera Has Moved On (Literally)
If youāve noticed the speed camera missing from its usual spot in Virgil, youāre not imagining things. This box that sparked plenty of local chatter (and was featured in a past issue of NOTL News) has officially been taken down⦠but not for good.

So while itās off our radar for now, itās likely reappearing elsewhere soon.
Where will it pop up next? Weāll be watching. And in the meantime, maybe ease off the gas⦠just in case.
If you want to get caught up to speed on the whole story, take a peek at our previous post! š
