🤝 Supporting Responsible Growth in NOTL
If you’ve noticed new homes and redevelopment projects popping up across Niagara-on-the-Lake, you’re seeing part of a much bigger story.
Before any project moves forward, there’s a critical step that happens behind the scenes: environmental due diligence.
That’s where Niagara Soils Solutions Ltd. (NSSL) comes in.

Based in Thorold, NSSL is an environmental consulting firm working with developers, builders, and property owners across the region. Their team specializes in environmental site assessments, excess soil management, and redevelopment support, helping projects move forward while meeting Ontario regulations.
“Environmental assessments are really about understanding the story of a property,” says President & CEO Jodie Glasier.
That story can reveal unexpected challenges, from historical land use to legacy oil and gas wells, which must be properly addressed before development begins.
As Niagara continues to grow, early environmental insight helps projects move forward with fewer surprises and greater confidence.

🌻 Tourism Season Is Back
Niagara’s summer season officially kicked off this past Monday, April 20, as Niagara Parks marked the start of National Tourism Week.
You might not feel it fully yet, but give it a few days.
By the end of this weekend, Queen Street will start to look a little different. More foot traffic, longer lines, and that familiar shift where Niagara-on-the-Lake moves from local rhythm to something a bit more… lively.
Niagara Parks is also rolling out a new Niagara Falls Pass this season, alongside a full lineup of events across the region.

🎭 Opening Night at Shaw
It’s opening day at the Shaw Festival, and there’s a bit of buzz around town because of it.

Funny Girl officially takes the stage this afternoon, with Sara Farb making her Shaw debut as Fanny Brice in one of the most anticipated productions of the season. Opening weekends always carry a different kind of energy. The streets feel a little fuller, dinner reservations stretch a little longer, and there’s that quiet sense that the season has officially begun.
If you’ve been waiting for your cue to make it to a show, this might be it.

🧐 We Want to Know
When you walk down Queen Street this weekend you will probably notice it. Not all at once, but just enough to know things are changing again.
With spring settling in and summer around the corner, we’re curious…
